Mountain Commerce Bank retained TWA to design a new multi-functioning financial center that would serve as its corporate headquarters, a full-service branch bank, and a trail-blazing ITM drive-thru outparcel. The drive-thru outparcel features a full-service “Interactive Teller Machine (ITM)” which allows clients to access full-service bank operations in a drive-thru environment or after hours - a first of its kind in the Tri-Cities area. The main financial center building features the full-service teller lobby, open business office spaces, meeting and board room spaces, and office support spaces. Its pinnacle location directly off the thoroughfare interstate makes the building a “gateway” to Gray, Johnson City, and the surrounding area. The two-story building showcases sweeping mountain views with its private walk out terrace, public and employee patios, and expansive curtain wall and design elements such as stone and landscaping pay homage to the beauty of East Tennessee. The interior follows suit with impressive design displays like custom lighting fixtures, thoughtful patterns and textures, locally-sourced granite counters, and custom art installations depicting familiar visuals from the Appalachian Highlands region.
